From this the student will also associate these historical figures as those who were real people with real personalities and character defects with real problems.
From this the student will also come to discover that the Book of Acts reveals how ministers of today can yet overcome the challenges of ministry and thereby function in an effective and vibrant ministry today with the help of the Holy Spirit.
Course Strategy: The course objectives shall be met through:
-
Lectures in which character profiles will be presented based upon the names of the major characters (in accordance to the Hebrew naming ceremony and the laws of naming)
-
The character profiles will include personality traits taken from Scripture and other texts to construct a behavioral analysis of each character.
-
The family lineage will be traced as much as possible and corresponding materials and insight given concerning the major characters.
-
The missions given to these characters will be explored from a ministerial point of view to help the student associate each figure with modern day ministry.
-
Their strategies will be examined to ascertain how they conducted ministry as opposed to today.
-
The call and office of each character will be examined as to the individual and whether or not these offices/callings were appropriated officially.
